Airplane Pilots ~ Acute and Chronic Cough Instant and Permanent Cures

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

Fact: Cough is the #1 reason that Americans go to the doctor. Until now; there has never been a peer reviewed and published, instant & permanent cure, via-telemedicine, and simply by watching a YouTube video. Note: This might very well be the first time you have ever heard of, or seen the word "cure" concerning a cough.

Fact: From a 1694 medical textbook printed in London, England. "habitual, cough [absent once asleep] which often continues after the first Cough, which was caused by the Cold, is gone,..." [post-viral cough] -and- for adults from 1685 below. "... a violent dry Cough following her day and night, unless when she [adult female] was fallen asleep:..." These are quite similar to Dr. Weinberger's current habit cough diagnosis HERE.

We were asked to address: commercial, transport, private, student, recreational, bush, sport, military, helicopter, & aerial firefighter pilots, as well as flight crew members, and astronauts suffering from days, weeks, months, years and even decades of acute, or chronic refractory, unexplained cough; and the potential for an instant and permanent cure utilizing Dr. Weinberger's peer reviewed and published cough cure procedure.

Special notes: Not all cough is habit cough. We provide no medical advice or expectation of outcome. Only YOUR doctors can do this. Please ask your doctors, and medical team to review Dr. Weinberger's 40 years of peer reviewed and published cough cure research: in-office, via-telemedicine, and by-proxy ~ by watching a simple YouTube documentary HERE.

Habit Cough Diagnosis in Adults and Children by Dr. Miles Weinberger, MD Updated to include "acute" cough (below) by Dr. Weinberger on March 19, 2020

The repetitive [daytime, awake, lingering, post-viral] barking cough that is not present once the patient is asleep is the diagnostic criteria. (It might take a while for the patient to fall asleep. It matters whether the cough is not present once asleep; only to return once awake. - Editor note.)

The characteristics of the self-perpetuating [daytime, awake, lingering, post-viral] Habit Cough is its repetitiveness and absence once asleep.

Once the patient meets the diagnostic criteria for [daytime, awake, lingering, post-viral] Habit Cough, even while the repetitive cough is still considered acute (less than 4 weeks), treatment with suggestion therapy There is no need to wait until the [daytime, awake, lingering, post-viral] cough is considered to be chronic. (4 weeks child & 8 weeks/adult)

Multiple patients report that knowledge of Dr. Weinberger's Procedure allows them to stop their future [daytime, awake, lingering, post-viral] coughs during the acute period once diagnosis of Habit Cough has been met.

You might hear, "treat," "suppress," and "... we'll keep an eye on it," but most likely, NEVER; until now, the word "cure" about your acute or chronic cough. This is because there has NEVER been a cough cure; or even a cough treatment based on scientific evidence rather than simply historical practice.

The ONLY CDC/NIH recommendation for cough is honey and sugar ~ this is the same recipe from medieval times, over 1,400 years ago. [Hard to believe.] Honey & sugar did not cure or suppress acute or chronic cough during medieval times; and it does not do it now.

“Honey may be better than ‘no treatment’, diphenhydramine and placebo for the symptomatic relief of cough, but it is not better than dextromethorphan. None of the included studies assessed the effect of honey on ‘cough duration’ because intervention and follow-up were for one night only. There is no strong evidence supporting or against the use of honey.” - "In the meantime, if parents want/need to give something, why not honey?" - Paediatrics & Child Health

“Nonprescription medications for respiratory symptoms: Facts and marketing fictions” - Weinberger, M. HERE

Alongside honey, Dr. Weinberger's peer reviewed and published manuscript (above) also included dextromethorphan, also known as DX, or DXM, as a potential antitussive treatment. Dextromethorphan (DXM or DM) is not a cure for cough and is a severely limited antitussive.

Drug test caution: DXM/DM is listed HERE, as a medication "... that can cause a false positive on drug tests." & "Dextromethorphan is a white odorless solid crystal or powder. It is an opium alkaloid derivative, which is found in cough and cold preparations."

Very Important - Per The CDC: Be careful about giving over-the-counter (OTC) medicines to children. Not all over-the-counter medicines are recommended for children of certain ages. (Especially dextromethorphan)

Dextromethorphan from Wikipedia, “It is in the morphinan class of medications with sedative, dissociation, and stimulant properties (at lower doses). Dextromethorphan possesses only a minimal degree of the mu-opioid activity typical of morphinan compounds and exerts its therapeutic effects through several other receptors. In its pure form, dextromethorphan occurs as a white powder.”

Dextromethorphan (DXM or DM was patented in 1949 and approved for medical use in 1953.) is a medication most often used as a cough suppressant (not a permanent cure) in over-the-counter cold and cough medicines. It is sold in syrup, tablet, spray, and lozenge forms.

“Laboratory studies suggest that dissociative drugs, including PCP, ketamine, and DXM, cause their effects by disrupting the actions of the brain chemical glutamate at certain types of receptors — called N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors — on nerve cells throughout the brain.” (Morgan, 2012; Morris, 2005)

Very important: Unfortunately, DXM is also used recreationally. “When exceeding approved dosages, dextromethorphan acts as a dissociative hallucinogen. It has multiple mechanisms of action, including actions as a nonselective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and a sigma-1 receptor agonist. DXM and its major metabolite, dextrorphan, also block the NMDA glutamate receptor at high doses, which produces effects similar to other dissociative anesthetics such as ketamine, nitrous oxide, and phencyclidine (PCP), [and Salvia divinorum].”

Interesting note: It has been referenced that DXM was successfully tested in 1954 as part of US Navy and CIA-funded research on nonaddictive substitutes for codeine as an antitussive. From a .mil government website HERE.

It is estimated that there are between 1.5 and 2.3 million pilots in the world. In the USA, there are 734,911 pilots including civilians and military. Of those: 160,860 are private pilots; 103,879 are commercial pilots; 43,300 are military pilots (19,100 Air Force); and 58,541 are female pilots.

Medical rules and restrictions most certainly vary from country to country and we cannot address them here. We provide no medical advice.

Per the FAA: "Under BasicMed, a pilot will be required to complete a medical education course, undergo a medical examination every four years, and comply with aircraft and operating restrictions."

"More people seek medical advice for an unwanted, nagging cough than any other ailment. In some people their cough can persist for years without relief, as effective treatments are not readily available." - EurekAlert, The Good Cough and the Bad Cough

"Chronic cough is a horribly unpleasant ailment. People can find themselves coughing hundreds of times every hour of their waking lives, for years on end, and current medicines simply aren't effective at relieving this condition." {Let alone providing an instant and permanent cure. - Editor] - Professor Stuart Mazzone, via EurekAlert, The Good Cough and the Bad Cough
